Your yummy Bristol Old Town walking tour begins at the bottom of Christmas Steps — a street as pretty as its name. Your local guide will describe how chocolate making developed in the city, from medieval monks to the invention of the world’s first ever chocolate bar and chocolate Easter Egg! Your fascinating route spans hidden rivers, crosses medieval city walls, and passes buildings which date back to the origins of the city. You’ll even visit contemporary chocolate makers to hear from the experts about how the magic is done!
You’ll gently wander towards the old town, passing 300-year-old sugar houses, medieval streets, and the 18th century financial district whilst stopping to nibble on chocolaty delights along the way!
A true highlight of the tour is our stop at Ruby Hue, Bristol’s only bean-to-bar chocolate maker to see chocolate making in action and taste their beautiful creations! Your chocolate tour then finishes amongst the wonderful independent traders of St. Nicholas Market, where you can then spend the rest of the day exploring the market stalls and food traders in your own time!
Tours run on Saturdays at 11am.
